President Boakai Hosts Dr. Andrew Forrest and Delegation

Express Liberia Prepareness to Collaborate with Reliable Investors.

Monrovia, Liberia – Liberia is prepared to collaborate with reliable investors that share the nation’s vision for sustainable growth and national development, according to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. who received a high-level delegation headed by well-known Australian businessman and philanthropist Dr. Andrew Forrest.

On Sunday, July 12, 2026, President Boakai spoke at a dinner held in honour of the delegation at his Rehab Office, where he extolled Fortescue for his interest in Liberia and stated that his government is still working to create a stable, open, and investment-friendly environment that promotes ethical investment and long-term economic growth.

He said, his administration is open to collaborate with investors whose goals align with Liberia’s development objectives. “We are prepared to work with people who are serious about making good things happen for our country and our people.”

Dr. Andrew Forrest in response to President Boakai, disclosed that the delegation visit is meant to investigate prospects for cooperation in agriculture, logistics, and railway infrastructure.

Dr. Forrest also expressed the interest of the Minderoo Foundation in supporting the JNB Foundation to advance President Boakai’s vision for sustainable socio-economic development and to help strengthen initiatives that will leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

“We are here to better understand Liberia’s opportunities and determine how we can help unlock that potential for the benefit of the future generations.”

Dr. Forrest is the founder and Executive Chairman of Fortescue Metals Group, one of the world’s leading mining, metals, and green energy companies. He is also the founder of the Minderoo Foundation, Australia’s largest philanthropic organization, supported by an endowment of approximately US$9 billion, as well as Tattarang, one of Australia’s largest privately owned investment groups.
