Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has attributed Liberia’s growth to God divine intervention emphasizing that ongoing developments across the country reflect signs of God’s continued presence.
Speaking during the 2026 National Fast and Prayer Day, which was held at the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary on April 10, 2026, the Liberian Leader stated that persistent prayer and spiritual renewal are more important for the nation’s advancement than human labor alone. President Boakai stated, “I think God is still here for this nation,” adding that Liberia is going through a phase of restoration as a result of the people’s shared devotion and faith.
He emphasized that without divine direction and the citizens prayers, the nation’s progress would not have been possible in order to maintain national progress, the President further exhorted Liberians to continue unwaveringly seeking God’s guidance. He underlined that everyone who believes has a duty to pray, not only a chosen few. He emphasized that nothing is impossible with God by saying, “God didn’t pick special people to pray; it is the hearts of those who believe that He answers.”
He emphasized the significance of the Church as a crucial pillar in the development of the country and expressed gratitude to the church leadership for organizing the program adding that such event shows how faith-based organizations continue to influence the nation’s moral and spiritual fabric.
