MOT Launches New Motor Vehicle License Plate System

A new family of motor vehicle license plates has been formally introduced by the Liberian government through the Ministry of Transport with the goal of enhancing public safety, law enforcement, and vehicle identification nationwide.

The program, according to the Ministry, demonstrates the government’s dedication to bolstering the transportation industry. The launch, alos fulfills a long-standing requirement to introduce new license plates every five years, is in line with the Vehicle and Traffic Law of Liberia and the administrative regulations of the Ministry of Transport.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Rudolph Natt stated that license plates are essential for administrative and law enforcement functions in addition to acting as a connection between cars and their registered owners.

The new plates have enhanced patterns adapted to different vehicle classifications and are produced with high-quality retro-reflective materials to boost visibility, particularly in urban locations like as Monrovia.
